So we headed down the street. Right on the corner, two of the boys had set up a basketball net and were shooting hoops.

Whatever had happened in the past, yesterday, when the sister looked at me with such sincerity and said, "Thank you, Mr. Camera man! Thank you so much!" I had been truly touched, and then all the more so when the brothers and sisters and all the children gathered there did the same.

I was a little curious to see if any of that would carry over today with the two boys. As we drew near, they stopped playing, took hold of their basket ball and quietly looked away and ignored us.

"How's the rabbit?" I asked.

"Fine," the older of the two said.

"Good. Glad to hear it." I said.

We continued on for about 150 yards and came upon two small boys throwing glider airplanes in the street. I took some pictures and afterward we had a nice, friendly visit with the Dad and the grandma, both of whom expressed concern and sympathy for my injury and were happy that I had been able to photograph the boys with the gliders.

It was a very neighborly scene, just the way it ought to be.Grahamn Krackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09154842525792185712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162808830816110654.post-75613826147341638052008-06-29T19:17:00.000-08:002008-06-29T19:17:00.000-08:00I am sorry you had such a bad experience with that...I am sorry you had such a bad experience with that lady and her kids. I can't believe there are such people out there. This is so sad... I wish I could straighten her out personally at this very instant!
I just hope the rabbit is doing okay...and I also hope you are feeling better than before. Please take good care of yourself.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10681625133805710200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162808830816110654.post-75780300518617117252008-06-29T18:55:00.000-08:002008-06-29T18:55:00.000-08:00Thanks Springfang. I must take another walk, soon, and see if that bunny is back in its pen.Grahamn Krackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09154842525792185712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162808830816110654.post-9798875705840997112008-06-29T18:38:00.000-08:002008-06-29T18:38:00.000-08:00Yes, taddie tales, I can understand your radar bei...Yes, taddie tales, I can understand your radar being up initially, but I suspect that it would soon have recognized your new neighbor for what he was, you would have become friends with your new neighbor and you would not have told your children things that would cause them to warn their friends that he was a bad man, things that would lead your child to feel justified in shooting an air rifle over his head when he came walking by slow with his arm in a sling.

As I noted, I am a professional photographer and I literally do this kind of thing all the time and this has been a singular experience. I have introduced myself to many parents and upon explanation they are almost always delighted to have me photograph their children.

In the very, very, rare instances where they remain uncomfortable, they tend to be polite, as am I. They do not insult me and I respect their feelings.

Still, there is no telling what another person has experienced that might cause their radar to become super heated.

The thing is, this is a group of super-photogenic kids. Super photogenic!

Thank you for your encouragement as well and you can be assured that I am one who will not be deterred. Photography is a passion for me, I love cats, I love to learn and tell stories - and guess what?

This has been my first venture into blogging - and I absolutely love it! I just love to blog! So much so that I am sitting here laboriously typing these words with one hand. I keep thinking about other topics to blog on as well - if I could figure out a way to make it pay, I could become a full-time, professional blogger!

So far, with those little click-on ads that Google places on my blog, in the apprximately six weeks that I have been blogging, I have earned $4.50!

In another six weeks, I should be able to go out to Carl's Jr. and order one of their $6.00 burger meals! Sunflower will have to buy her own.

Anyway, I will keep cat blogging!

I have so many stories to tell. Please keep coming back so that I can share them with you.Grahamn Krackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09154842525792185712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162808830816110654.post-79715533118233563942008-06-29T17:46:00.000-08:002008-06-29T17:46:00.000-08:00ah Mr. Kracker - this is such a touchy subject. As...ah Mr. Kracker - this is such a touchy subject. As a mother of 2 incredibly beautiful baby girls I must admit that my radar would have been off the scope if you would have approached me with the same situation. It is SO sad that in the current world we live in us mothers are parinoid of stangers when it comes to our children. The huge increase of pedophilia being out in the open - due largely to the internet - is anough to scare any mother shitless.

I am so sorry that this experience created these ugly feelings for you. Please don't let it detere you from your fabulous stories and phots of our fine felines. You know what you are and that in and of it self is strength enough.Taddie Taleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09050981333692170576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162808830816110654.post-56261513304773551472008-06-29T16:58:00.000-08:002008-06-29T16:58:00.000-08:00Well, I had no idea about this woman. That's just...Well, I had no idea about this woman. That's just absurd... doesn't she realize that the real bad men don't ask to take pictures? They just do it.

And yet, I can't entirely blame her, what with all the horrible things that go on. It's pretty sad that parents even have to worry about such things.

But still... how could she think such a thing about you? That's just not right... not right at all.

Good job with the bunny. Hopefully it will be okay, and hopefully those neighbors of yours will stop living in fear of good people.springfanghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536379127902246224noreply@blogger.com
